Bronte, on the roughest day I had yet
encountered. Waves were coming with such a force that at one time two kids
had to be rescued after being swept out the pool. |

Most of these shots were taken at Bilgola,
the woman was Harolds sister and the girl, one of her kids. We got
chatting he was visiting from Johannesburg, he did a RD portrait for me,
and so did Geoff- |

22nd Feb Geoff Davis North Sydney interestingly it was a white wall-
Northern beaches, starting with (Bilgola head- the little french boy
that was hypnotized by the birdman hang glider flying overhead- Am sure
there was a kind of energy flowing between them, and me- The rest of his
family were all waiting to go on. |

Bronte Pool was feeling a little bored with
my creativity so slowed the shutter down and went for abstract shapes and
colours. |

Bronte Pool. Same day - today I get asked
three times what I am doing. I am just doing the pool I say and all that
jazz. I am now beginning to look for new angles. Perhaps I will take the
plunge soon. |

Bronte Pool , these were taken on A Monday. I
normally do Bronte on a Sunday. A different crowd. I guess less people
from other suburbs. |

Fuji once again, this film a
little better than the one before, still you can see that I had a lot of
trouble with the sea spray as well as failing lens mechanics. |
| |
040201 |
Kodak Gold 100, and a failing
Tokina at-x 35-70 zoom. Actually it was involved in a little accident here
around 6 yrs ago, and it should have been written off then. Oh well have
learnt the lesson. Back to standard lens from now on. This roll was
rescanned too, and is slightly scratched. A cursed roll. |

Bronte Divers, yes More
Bronte.. elusive Bronte, Blue Mountains, well an angle on it, the bush.

Marta starts the last film of
2000, 2 thru 15 are part of a panorama sequence. ie non composition, these
will be stitched together. A couple of shots of Adrian, although he was
not in the mood for it. Also a neighbouring Canon photographer who didn't
speak a word of English. Film finished with handheld firework shots.
(9pm version) |
| 123300 |
Awdah taken at Coogee beach -NYE morning,
with Mike playing guitar in background - XP2 film, windy day causes some
hassles, the shoot improves when we attract a crowd for the last few
shots. |
| 123200 |
Marta at Lavender bay, note
how her image develops from the first few frames to the great
"veiled" end shots. Film ends with Awdah at
Coogee. The mood of these shots is quite different from the XP2 film
above. |
| 123100 |
The Marty Roll taken against another local
wall. Marty, is a trained subject and so was easy to capture. Sharon joins
in towards the end of the roll |
| 123000 |
The Sharon Roll. I
anticipated a difficult shoot. Photographers just hate their photos
taken..and the expectations are significantly higher. I feel I have
managed to capture her essence. An early appearance of Marty, Sharons
partner, as the roll comes to an end. |
| 122900 |
Running off a film that originally tried to
capture a moon over Sydney. Includes Bronte, but no jumpers today (where
are they all?) Last few frames are of Sharon |
| 121100 |
The second roll, sometimes
you leave the motor drive on and the roll is over in less than a minute-
Its heaps cheaper to leave it off, but catching "the moment" is
even more difficult on manual and less wasteful. Scan not quite up
to the usual standards |
| 121000 |
Bronte beach jumpers and divers, with a
little rapid fire shooting. This roll and 121100 required a fair bit of
tweaking to work on the screen. Now where from here? Scan not quite up to
the usual standards |
| 120300 |
The Bondi to Coogee Beach
walk. A hot midday sun and just a 50mm lens shoot. |

Part deux of same day. (An exhausted) Marta
at roll end- Couple of Awdah to finish off the film |

Ross in b&w for Sharons show, "my favourite thing" at the
shoebox gallery- I had heaps more trouble with this shoot than Ross, who
was the perfect model, all composed and ultra laid back. The images
are stored on IMAGESTATION.COM and will open in a separate window |
